Gifts from the Garden ornament making workshop

Let's get together and make some ornaments from materials we've harvested from the garden! I've created a few different ornaments all levels of crafters can complete in well under 2 ours. Make 1 or a few, and take them home to deck your halls.

$8 covers your materials and will buy 2 2x4s for a new shed at Little Sugar Creek Community Garden.  Pay online (credit card) or in person (cash).

Paint a planter

Upcycle unfinished wooden boxes (formerly used by the City for storage) into a planter. We'll have paints on hand for you to personalize your design. Then we'll teach you about using compost to help your plants to grow and have seeds for you to get started growing in your box!

Leaf embossed stepping stones

Using leaves and other natural objects sourced inside the Little Sugar Creek Garden, we will make and decorate concrete stepping stones. These stepping stones will be a learning tool and a matching/scavenger hunt for garden goers in the future! Bring your own pan or mold and make one to take home, too!

Build a bean tepee

Come out and learn to build a bean tepee! After they're built, we'll plant drying beans around them and the vines will eventually cover the tepee.  These cozy garden spots are favorites of kids and adults alike!
