lace and links. . .

Okay, some of you may be getting tired of the lacy themes that inundated art for a bit. Wait, who am I kidding, how can we get tired of beautiful objects?? I mean, Restoration Hardware started their own brand around embracing the ornate, right?

I just found Casey Watson's work, via Oh Joy, at the Motel Gallery website and although there isn't much lace to be found in the rest of the pieces, this skull is exquisite.

Yesterday I was clicking links left and right and found Cal Lane. Have you seen her work before, am I late on joining her fandom? Several of my favorite pieces are from several years ago, and the tomato paste piece is, in my eyes, just perfect. But this I-beam piece? It boggles the mind.
