With all this cooking going on, I've picked up a couple new cooking blogs to check in on periodically. 101Cookbooks is one I used to read fairly often, but somehow started thinking the newsletter I received from them was spammy sounding (I think it was the name of the blog?) so I never clicked on it, and eventually forgot to even check it out periodically. But upon renewed interest in cooking, I found my way back to it, and decided Super Natural Cooking, the book by 101 Cookbooks blog author Heidi Swanson, was worth purchasing.
Miss Fluff reminded me to check out Fat Free Vegan, and now the number one recipe to try when our cabinets reach sufficiently low stock status will be the Asparagus and Mushroom Quiche. In the meantime, we have all the makings for Smitten Kitchen's Butternut Squash and Caramelized Onion Galette. (Just look at that picture and tell me it doesn't look incredible.)
Also looking good for the list of things to use up the rest of those odd ingredients that will otherwise go to waste: Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Sauteed Apples (oh, hell yeah, I can't wait for the chance to use this recipe!) and this Lazy Day Peanut Noodle Salad (with broccoli subbing in for the asparagus) and these Artisan Crackers from Gayla's You Grow Girl blog.
OK, enough food talk for today--I'm making my own stomach growl.
