Yeah, I gotta focus on the nursery. I don't know if the road block is that my studio is such a mess, or that it means getting rid of a bunch of art supplies, but I haven't made much headway with it. Here's what I do have: a second coat of navy paint (Yes! Sherwin Williams had no problem mixing up a batch of matte navy, and it goes on like a dream with absolutely no smell), roman shades in an off white canvas color, the rug (still all packaged up) from Crate and Barrel, and that red school chair that wasn't going to stay in there, but I think it needs to now. I love the way it looks against the navy wall.


The thing is, my choices are slow, and I'm attracted to "classic" design, but as I look at the choices as a whole, I wonder if the room would be too sterile and relatively uncreative to the design oriented population. I want to keep it inspiring and interesting for Mabel's new eyes on the world, and also for my own use as partial studio.
So what do you think, Playfully Modern or Painfully Cliche? Any suggestions for softening things up a bit?
