A Big Shop Announcement

I've been debating over whether I want to reopen the shop, deciding how to balance all of my interests without falling prey to the need to constantly update the shop and maintain competitiveness of mainstream consumerism. (Anyone else feel like etsy no longer sets an independent pace but pushes shop keepers to stay ahead of the retail curve?) I don't have the drive to make items based on holiday themes, nor do I have the time.

All rants aside, when the shop reopens, I'm going to have a different structure and a different process: I will just offer 1 print at a time in very limited editions. The paper, the size and the time of availability will vary, but my goal is to have a new design every 2 months. If an edition doesn't sell out, I'll still pull it from the shop.

It's a way for me to keep pushing myself, stay outside that retail rush, and feel passionate about my product.

This print is nearly finished, and will be the first available in a 16 x 22" poster as an edition of 10 ($75). Smaller prints (8 x 10", edition of 20, $30) will be available through the fine retailers that carry Wolfie and the Sneak wares.

Calendar Giveaway!

I'd planned to do a post on Cursive Design and some other favorites of mine, but yesterday was an explosion of gettin' stuff done, so I have a lot of my own stuff to show. So Monday we'll drool over the colorful jewelry Sarah makes. Drooling is better suited for a Monday anyway, right?

Are you familiar with While She Naps? That was totally me yesterday: baby slung on my shoulder, deep in baby-sleep while I printed, scanned, colored and photoshopped away. For 2 solid hours I was doing the creativity hustle, and what do I have to show for it? The Winter Poster {and print, although I don't have that graphic on the site yet}!

I also begged Hi-C to get a shot of the calendar and he kindly obliged. Look at that--the 2011 calendar on a one-of-a-kind kindling shelf!

I know I'm whoring out the links left and right, but I'm pretty proud of how the shop is shaping up, so I want people to look at it!

And if you've made it past all the bragging excitement, I have a contest going! Vote for your favorite month's illustration {there are no right or wrong answers} for a chance to win one of our 2011 calendars! We're giving 3 away after the contest closes Wednesday, October 27.
Go now and Vote!

{PS--If you've had trouble opening the link, this link is the same survey.}

Oh 2011!

Here are couple more images for you! January in full white stag glory amidst a field of snow drops and pale Lenten roses. December full of nature's feasts for the critters outside, boughs of holly, slivers of silvery paper birch, and rosemary wafting room to room as dinner slowly roasts in the kitchen.

Oh 2011!

What do you see in the not-too-distant future?

{In 2 days the calendars will go up to full price. Hint, hint.}

New Sneak Peek and a New Look

Pardon the wonkiness of the blog while I tweak and snip and nudge and generally rearrange things. Ultimately the blog, home page and store will be integrated into a seamless Wolfie and the Sneak experience. Until then please be patient.

In the meantime, I present October {above} and a view of the full layout. I'd intended to have a photo of the calendar on display so you can get an idea of what yours will look like, but . . . the weather was perfect for playing outside all weekend.

Calendar Unveiling Part III

And we'll just skip on down to September. Shall we? Feathers falling in a rainbow of autumn hues, I started to wonder what the world would look like if trees had feathers and birds had leaves. What if feathers photosynthesized?
If I really thought about it long enough, I'd think it through to the point that the hypothetical me in feather-filled tree world would probably wonder what trees would look like if they had leaves and birds had feathers.

Now for the sales pitch--don't forget, the price goes up once the calendar is fully unveiled (that's 9 days away!) so get yours while the gettin's good!
